Devon coastline at Man Sands

See where this picture was taken. [?] Walking the South West Coast Path..this section was between Dartmouth and Brixham. Stopped for lunch on the hill ( Crabrock Point) on the far side then walked down and across the beach. The water behind is called a ley..there are quiet a few in Devon ..they are created when open water becomes a reed bed and eventually, as silt and leaf litter builds up, scrub & woodland. The beach itself is a good example of a bar: the material that makes up the beach was pushed up by the rising sea levels during the time just afterafter the last glacial period (from 10,000 to 5,000 years ago)
