Santa Helena

Sant Pere de Rodes, Girona (Spain). ENGLISH Santa Helena de Rodes has a very old origin as it demonstrates that in 2007 it was found to its side and under a house of the left town, a cemetery that would have to locate chronological between 8th and 9th centuries. The first documented date mentions the church in 974, is one bula of Pope Benedict I where it appears a confirmation of goods of the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes. This bond with the benedictine monastery was maintained in the time. More ahead, between 1116 and 1118, it was found that has been interpreted like an act of consecration of the church, more likely is only the conversion of the church in parish, continuing bound to the monastery.
